Do you offer 4 night breaks? — For much of the year, yes. However during periods of peak demand, such as Christmas and New Year, we only offer one week or longer.
How good is the Wi-Fi? — We have fibre optic to the premises, and with a bespoke router system we are able to offer free Wi-Fi to unlimited numbers of devices throughout the cottage.
Is there a wood-burning stove? — Yes, and we will provide you with a basket full of logs.
Do you allow pets? — Yes- two well behaved dogs are allowed but please not in the bedrooms. We would politely ask that you do not leave them unattended for a long time in the garden.
What are the arrival and departure times? Arrival is any time after 16:00 hours, and departure is by 11:00 a.m. This gives us time to ensure the cottage is ready for the next occupants. On Sundays we try to extend the check-out time until noon, but we cannot guarantee that in advance.
Is smoking permitted in the cottages? — Anti-smoking legislation covers the holiday cottage but you may smoke outside if you dispose of the butts in an ashtray, not the flower pots.
Do you have a BBQ? — Yes there is a charcoal BBQ available, please supply your own charcoal and firelighters.
Is there plenty of parking? Yes, we have space for up to 3 cars.
Can we order a breakfast hamper? — Yes we need 2 days’ notice for this when you book.
Can we use the tennis court? – yes you can, it’s included and in summer we will confirm times.
Can we walk anywhere on the farm? — On the footpaths and bridle ways, with dogs on leads or under close control as we have sheep and cows and ground nesting birds.
Where is the nearest supermarkets?— Sainsbury’s Frome or Morrisons in Wincanton and there are small convenience shops in nearby Bruton.
Where is the nearest pub?— The Olde Red Lion also serves food and is one mile up the hill, so walking distance! The Three Horse Shoes in nearby Batcombe and The Bull Inn at Hardway are also well recommended.
Are linen and towels included? - Yes, the beds will be made up for your arrival and each guest has one large bath towel and one hand towel.
What dry provisions are there in the kitchen? There will be a selection of teabags and coffee and sugar cubes in the cupboards, as well as salt and pepper and cooking oil. We provide washing up liquid and a few dishwasher tablets as well as a fewWC rolls.
